Benefit of doubt!

What are T-straps?
When Gunter Jauch asked this question on Monday´s `who want to be a millionaire` (wer wird millionär), i was so sure that T-straps are part of women underwear. When he gave bikinis and dessues as answer options, i was out shouting D, D, D to my TV-screen as though trying to convince the candidate to take D. I even imagined hearing or reading it somewhere. Never on earth would i have thought  that t-straps are shoes!

But don´t we face these situations almost on a daily basis? Days that we are faced with our own  EGO of knowing better. Times that we are convinced of our own vanity and delusional imagination beyond every doubt. Moments that we would put our hand in the fire (Hand ins feuer legen) to support our figment of imagination. But why is it like that?

She must be cheating on me, a husband will be convinced about his wife. So convinced that he might even file for divorce. He must have cheated, a teacher would be so sure about his student, and have him get suspended from school. He does not love me,  a girl will think of her boyfriend and even break up with him. She betrayed me, a friend will think of a friend and end up ending the friendship. He is not telling me the truth, a mother will be convinced of the son.

No words, no actions would convince us otherwise. We have sometimes even a whole story made up in our minds supporting our imagination. The husband might even already have a picture in mind of the person his wife is cheating him with. He will have even calculated the number of times and figured out the wheres.

We might hold on those imagined stories too tight, until we miss out on the real story. The stories might end up destroying what we have and what we could have had. They destroy our relationships with each other and might even ruin our lives.


No matter how much i support listening to ones own guts, it is even much more important sometimes to take a break and give some benefit of the doubt.

Wednesday is gone and the week is almost over...Yeah :-)!!!
